Massage Therapy

Michelle Caron, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Michelle has been an RMT for over 10 years.  She graduated from Lambton College’s Massage Therapy Program in 2011.

Shortly after graduating her love for the outdoors lead her to British Columbia where she practiced Massage Therapy for 4 years at Whistler’s Scandinave Spa.  Due to the athletic nature of the clients, she gained experience in sports massage, perfecting the balance between relaxation and therapeutic techniques.

Since returning to Ontario, her practice has focused around relieving workplace strain and postural imbalances through an assortment of Swedish Massage and compression techniques.  She is trained is Acupressure, Deep Tissue, and Reflexology.

After becoming a mother Michelle found her focus and passion spark for prenatal massage.  As a mother of 2, she has developed a deeper understanding of the toll pregnancy has on your body, mind and soul and the benefit she can provide to her community through massage therapy.  She continues to expand her knowledge and techniques in these areas with courses in pregnancy massage and pelvic health.  She is looking forward to going the team at the WOMB.

Jess Cook, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist

Jessica graduated from Mohawk College’s Massage Therapy Program in August of 2017, and she was registered the following February. Since February of 2018 Jessica has been a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Jessica is committed to continuing to learn new techniques and expand her knowledge within her field to ensure she offers the best for her clients.

Since her registration, Jess has worked in a multi-disciplinary clinic and is now looking to also work within her passion of prenatal and postpartum. Jess took the courses to become a birthing and postpartum doula shortly after finishing school, but discovered that was not the ideal way for her personally to pursue this passion. Jess loves using this knowledge to guide her clients through this new adventure in their lives.

Jessica primarily uses General Swedish Massage techniques but is also well versed in cupping therapy. Cupping therapy can be beneficial for many ailments including but not limited to scar healing, decreasing muscle tension, plantar fasciitis and sciatica.

Jessica is hoping to grow her own family one day soon, but for now she enjoys spending time with her husband, three cats (Neville, Luna and Penelope) and their families, especially her nieces and nephew. During her time off Jess has a wide range of interests from trail walks, reading, playing games to watching movies, cooking and baking.

*Jess is currently on mat leave and not taking appointments.

Rebecca Kitchen, RMT, Registered Massage Therapist & Accupuncture Specialist

Rebecca Kitchen has been a Registered Massage Therapist for over 13 years.  She loves what she does and specializes in contemporary Acupuncture, where she focuses mostly on pain and stress.

Rebecca graduated from D’Arcy Lane Institute of Massage Therapy in June 2007 and was registered directly after.  She went on to complete the Contemporary Acupuncture course at McMaster University in 2010, where she learned to use Acupuncture to decrease pain and maintain or regain muscle and nerve function to the body.  With massage therapy and myofascial release (which she is also trained in) this type of therapy works well to stretch the tissue and bring circulation back into the area and help flush out the toxins that may have been trapped from injury. It also can bring blood flow to an area for healing and help break down tension or scar tissue.

In 2015 she continued her education in Vancouver in Contemporary Cupping Therapy, which can be used full body for several different purposes.

Rebecca’s passion lies in fertility, prenatal and postnatal treatments. She has taken a broad range of courses from foam rolling to help with home care to infant massage therapy instruction and postnatal massage.  She also attended the Perinatal Massage Therapy Educational Institution where she learned how to work with the pelvic floor and diastasis recti without actually having to touch the pelvic floor.

She is a mom of 2 toddlers and knows how vital maintaining her own health and wellness was in her recovery and transition to parenthood.  She continues to grow and learn with new training and is excited to have a team of practitioners to refer to at The WOMB to offer the best care for this community.

*Rebecca is not currently accepting new clients.
